Allianz Global Assistance USA adds new CFO and CIO

Daniel Wichels has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Allianz Global Assistance USA and will also oversee financial operations for the company’s Americas Zone, which includes the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil.  Wichels joined the Allianz Group in 2001 and became Chief Investment Officer at Allianz Global Assistance Group in Paris in 2008.  He was transferred to the U.S. in 2011 to oversee finances in the Americas Zone.

Jay Levine has been named the company’s Chief Information Officer.  Levine will oversee Information Technology strategy for both the U.S. business unit as well as the Americas Zone.  He is also tasked with leveraging the company’s extensive global Information Technology resources in order to maximize efficiencies and ancillary revenue opportunities for the company’s partners.  He has more than 30 years of experience in building and leading high-performance software development groups and IT organizations.  Previously, he was CIO at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, where he was responsible for the company’s overall IT strategy and operations, as well as the delivery of all enterprise information systems benefiting partners and members.
